Mesquite is located in north central Texas and is just east of Dallas. Being centrally located, Mesquite has exceptional employment opportunities, great shopping and an excellent school system. Mesquite residents enjoy over 220 days of sunshine a year and an average daily temperature of 65 degrees. The rainfall average is approximately 40 inches, and continually changing conditions occur in the city during all four seasons.Mesquite is a city in Dallas and Kaufman Counties in the U.S. state of Texas and a suburb of Dallas. The city had a total population of 124,523 in the 2000 census which increased to 136,750 in the 2007 census estimate.Mesquite is home to the Mesquite Championship Rodeo and is known as the "Rodeo Capital of Texas."

The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.27.In the city the population was spread out with 30.5% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 33.9% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 7.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 93.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.2 males.
